The
Ghana National Association of the Deaf (GNAD)
The Ghana National Association of the Deaf (GNAD) is a National Association
run by Deaf people for Deaf people. The registered Head Office is
located at the Accra Rehabilitation Centre, Accra and it has branches
in all ten (10) regions of the country.
GNAD aims: - To seek and promote the welfare of the Deaf in Ghana,
to create public awareness of the deaf issues, to assist the deaf
to have a full access to information, to build capacity of GNAD at
the national and the regional levels, and to deal with the problems
facing the deaf in Ghana. |

The
Ghana Society of the Physically Disabled (GSPD)
The Ghana Society of the Physically Disabled (GSPD) is the national
organization of persons with physical disabilities (PWPDs). Founded
in 1980, GSPD has been championing the cause of its members who are
disadvantaged, in terms of access to health, education, employment,
and cultural activities, and this means that many are poor. GSPD is
a registered Ghanaian NGO with branches in all ten (10) regions and
in many of the districts. GSPD exists to promote the welfare of its
members, by creating awareness of the capacities and capabilities
of persons with physical disabilities, and advocating and lobbying
for their rights. |

Ghana
Association of the Blind (GAB)
Ghana Association of the Blind (GAB) was founded in 1963 as a pressure
group to liberate the blind from the shackles of societal neglect,
pity and discrimination, and to ensure that they are treated as partners
in development and has developed over the years into a potent organization
providing services to its member. The Association is a registered
organization and serves as a link between the Blind and the Government,
organizing and educating members through its ten (10) regional and
thirty-five (35) district branches. GAB exists to advocate for the
Blind, and work for their total integration into society through the
development of services in education, rehabilitation, awareness creation,
and the promotion of the rights of women, youth and children. |
