The main activities over the next three years:
-
To continue to research, assess and promote national development alternatives through citizens dialogue and engagement with governments on the one hand, and the International Financial Institutions on the other hand with the view to building social consensus for pro-poor, alternative national development programmes, including those relating to the PRSP and the Multi Donor Budget Support (MDBS) processes.
-
To facilitate social and political empowerment processes of communities and citizens' groups through economic literacy that helps them unpack the political and economic jargons that often encapsulate policy documents.
-
To support citizens' groups to identify skills and tools for advocacy - advocacy for their families, their communities and their nation, particularly in defence of their rights to essential goods and services such as water, health, education, energy as well as access to land and housing.
-
To empower individuals and communities - especially poor and marginalized groups - to exercise their citizenship rights and their rights to development by strengthening civic and community structures to take initiatives in policy making and to hold governments accountable at the local, national and international levels.
